Acute Leukemia (Blood Cancer) is the uncontrolled and aimless proliferation of blood-producing precursor cells in the bone marrow. The proliferating blood cells fill the bone marrow and stop blood production. In addition, it reaches the liver, spleen and lymph nodes through the blood, causing enlargement of these organs. Decrease in blood values may lead to symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, headache, loss of appetite, frequently recurring infections, bruising and bleeding foci on the skin, bleeding gums, and nosebleeds. The diagnosis of Acute Leukemia is confirmed by blood tests and bone marrow examinations. The main treatments after diagnosis are supportive treatment and chemotherapy. In necessary patients, radiotherapy and bone marrow transplantation are added to the treatment options. In recent years, smart molecule treatment and targeted treatments have begun to be used in addition to classical treatment. Targeted therapies, immunotherapy and CAR-T Cell treatments have also begun to be used in patients who relapse after treatment.
